Question of the Day: Watch the Video - Do you think that technology has increased teenage depression and loneliness or does technology help t orelieve depression and loneliness?

I believe that etchnology can creat depression. Everyone has a Facebook account. Most of my friends post statuses on their wall every 2-5 hours daily. They usually say what they are doing, where they are going, or who they are with. If someone is at home they would probably feel some depressed because they are not out with their friends who are posting statuses on their wall having fun. So yes Facebook can cause depression on a person.

The side effects that the digital life is having on your real life.

The side effects the digital world has on me is very light. Yes, I have a phone, Yes I have a laptop and yes I have a Facebook account, but they do not hinder my activities. I use my phone on a daily basis, including while I'm in school. This does not distract me from getting my education, because I know that getting my education is way more important than using my phone. I text only when I'm done with my work in class. Many of my friends can not go a week without a phone or getting on Facebook, and that is sad.
I have went months without having a phone. Yes, it is challenging when you are used to friends texting and calling you every five minutes, but I had to realize what is more important, and that's what teens do not do. Your priorities come before anything. Not having a phone does not kill you. Think about it,if e did not have phones, televisions, computers etc, what would we be doing? Everyone would either be into books more or outside having fun. The education level would raise.
Their are to many distractions int he world that distracts everyone from their daily activities. When I see statuses on Facebook about other teens having fun while I am at home, I think of thing that ca occupy my time while I am inside. Their is no reason to get jealous about simple things. I do sometimes stop studying or stop homework to check a text but I do not reply until I'm done with my homework etc. My homework is more important than a text message. Nothing is more important than my education.

Question of the Day: Watch the Video Above. Read : Whose Fault Is It if a Child Is Failing in School?Write 3 paragraphs on your blog that support your opinion. (100 points). Tell us how you feel about the notion of punishing parents if their children are failing in school. Which of the proposals described in the article, if any, seem sensible to you? That is, should parents be graded, as has been proposed in Florida; forced to do school volunteer work, as has been proposed in Indiana; fined if children are truant, as is currently done in Alaska; or forced to attend parenting classes if the child is in a gang, as currently done in California? What complications might judging parents in any of these ways raise?

When you have a student failing in school their are many approaches you take to help that child. Teachers offer tutoring & extra help to improve the childs grade/s. Now if a students is failing becaus eof being late or absent to school theres not so much you can do. All a teacher can do is send home a letter or make a phone call.
Personally i believe that it is the students fault. Yes soemtimes you get to school a little late but you know that you have to get your work regardless. You can not always put the blame on the parents becaus ethey do not attend school with their child/ren. They are they thinking their children is at school getting an education while their at work.
You can ot judge parents parenting skills because you dp not know what goes on in their household, and you are not apart of their familiy. All you can do is help every step of the way to improve that childs grades etc.

That statement is correct. When you are presenting a project usually have a certain amount of time to give out the information, so the night before you should always have a index card or just go over the most important things in the project. Question of the Day: Write a three paragraph essay about social networking.

Social Networking is communicating with your peers through the internet, or text messaging. Social Networking is used for fan pages, support groups, and community or organizations for school etc. Social networking can have a good and bad affect on your life.
The good affects are you meeting new people, communicationing with them. Social networking allows you to connect with individuals out of the state or even the country. Parents should not share their personal problems with anyone. For instance my mother always told me to keep family issues to myself. Sometimes you shouldn't even tell other family members. Question of the Day: Does listening to music help you to work or learn better? Or do you find music distracting? Does this vary with the type of work you are doing? Why?

Listening to music distracts me while I'm learning. I rather have peace and quiet than noise. In my opinion i rather work with no noise at any for any subject. Noise makes me lose my concentration.

I don't think that smartphones, ipods, and game boys have value of education. The are distractions and should not be used during school hours. Some people don't get distracted but some do. The only way they could be a value to education is if you are teaching how to program them or how to create them.

Question of the Day: Do you think the HSPA test should be given on a computer or over the Internet? Why?

The HSPA test should b given over the internet. This can help the students pass more easily. We could find examples of problems for a math question, and that would help get the correct answer. The internet would be very useful and im sure more students would pass.

uestion of the Day: How do you think the miniaturization of the cellular antennas will effect the way wireless technology and smart phones are used for education?

I think the new technology will work our for the better. Its small and useful for all cellar devices. The article says that i can handle up to more than 30 percent traffic than a standard cell phone tower. This can make internet use faster, or calling and text messaging faster.

Question of the Day: Do you think that the passing the HSPA should be a requirement for graduation? Why?

No, I do not think passing the HSPA should be a requirement to graduate. Passing the HSPA does not mean your smart. Not passing the HSPA does not mean your dumb or don't know the work. Everyone has to know what their taught throughout each grade to move on to the next grade. So passing the HSPA should not be an requirement for graduating. Many people fail it the first time because of the lack of time given. So they have to come back til they pass or just get their GED. Every school should just give a final exam.

I absolutely agree. Parents should start children off at an early age. Reading is essential in learning how to write & converse properly with others. If a child reads daily they learn new vocabulary and that will help in the long run.
