Netiquette Project

Question of the Day: Tell us what you think about parents sharing their family-related frustrations, concerns and stories with online readers. Should they obtain their spouses’ and children’s permission first? Would you approve or disapprove if your mother or father were sharing stories about you online – in, say, a blog, or on Facebook or Twitter? What ground rules would you want your parents to agree to? How protective are you of your privacy?

Parents should not share their personal problems with anyone. For instance my mother always told me to keep family issues to myself. Sometimes you shouldn't even tell other family members. People talk other peoples business, even family business. My mother doesn't share problems with anyone except her mother. Sometimes not even her or me. Certain things should not be discussed with other people. Privacy is very important to me and my family members.

It is important to have different resources when doing a project because you can explore different information. Question of the Day: Do you think that a parents should spy on their teen's online life? Is this good parenting or an invasion of privacy?

I do no think parents should spy on teens. If they want to know something or see something they should just ask. I do not mind my mother being in my business to a certain extinct. So things parents do not need to know about. Spying on teens is an invasion of privacy.

Question of the Day: Love Letters

Dear Paris,
I feel a little weird writing you a love letter, but i need you to know how much you mean to me. You help me get through the day, keeping me updating with other people, and giving me the chance to connect with them. I love you for that. You are so tiny, thats why i always keep you in my pocket. Whenever you ring i jump to respond. I give you a chance to relax when im sleep, and engerize you by plugging you up. You know all my secrets, i guess you could say your my best friend.
                                                                                                   I love u Paris

Question of the Day: Should you spy on your cheating bf (boyfriend) or gf (girlfriend)? What would you do if you caught your bf (boyfriend) or gf

In a relationship their should not be any secrets, but unfortunately their are. If my boyfriend gives me reason to believe that he's cheating then yes I'm going go through his phone etc. Its not called spying, because nothing should be a secret. If my boyfriend asks to look through my phone or email, I would not have no problem with it. I do not hide things from my significant other.

Question of the Day: Why is it important to observe what is happening on a Social Network before participating? What can happen if you participate before you lurk?

You should always see whats on a site before getting involved in a site. Always refer to chats or do some research on the site before making an account for the site. If you make account before you have knowledge about the site you could come across things you do not agree with. For instance you may not know what the site stands for. Always look into things before actually doing them, because some sites are not good.

Question of the Day: Does listening to music help you to work or learn better? Or do you find music distracting? Does this vary with the type of work you are doing? Why?

Listening to music distracts me while I'm learning. I rather have peace and quiet than noise. In my opinion i rather work with no noise at any for any subject. Noise makes me lose my concentration.

Question of the Day: What do you think about people who say unkind things to others using a computer, or other Internet devices? Some one you know is spreading untrue rumors about you on Facebook. They have never said anything to you in person or online. What should you do? Why?

Their are many people who are disrespectful, or rude for no reason at all.  People that act like that get no respect from others. People spread rumors to upset others, they do things out of spite. I do not let rumors bother me because they are most likely untrue. If no one comes to confront you then do not worry about it.

Question of the Day: Why would you want to moderate the comments that are posted on your blog?

You want to moderate your blogs because you might have posted something that you did not want people to read. You always have to be careful what you write on the internet because people are able to see it.

Question of the Day: Do you think that portable devices such as smartphones, ipods, game boys, etc. have value for education? Should they be banned from school or used to enhance education?

I don't think that smartphones, ipods, and game boys have value of education. The are distractions and should not be used during school hours. Some people don't get distracted but some do. The only way they could be a value to education is if you are teaching how to program them or how to create them.

Question of the Day: Do you think the HSPA test should be given on a computer or over the Internet? Why?

The HSPA test should b given over the internet. This can help the students pass more easily. We could find examples of problems for a math question, and that would help get the correct answer. The internet would be very useful and im sure more students would pass.

uestion of the Day: How do you think the miniaturization of the cellular antennas will effect the way wireless technology and smart phones are used for education?

I think the new technology will work our for the better. Its small and useful for all cellar devices. The article says that i can handle up to more than 30 percent traffic than a standard cell phone tower. This can make internet use faster, or calling and text messaging faster.

Question of the Day: Do you think that the passing the HSPA should be a requirement for graduation? Why?

No, I do not think passing the HSPA should be a requirement to graduate. Passing the HSPA does not mean your smart. Not passing the HSPA does not mean your dumb or don't know the work. Everyone has to know what their taught throughout each grade to move on to the next grade. So passing the HSPA should not be an requirement for graduating. Many people fail it the first time because of the lack of time given. So they have to come back til they pass or just get their GED. Every school should just give a final exam.

Question of the Day: Your parents are new to using the computer and Internet. They always send emails and other messages in all capital letters. What should you do? How can you help them without hurting their feeling or discourage them from using the computer and Internet? Remember you were once a newbie yourself.

If your parents or anyone else is a newbie at doing different task on the computer you should assist them. U can assist them by telling them how to write certain things properly. Teach them how to type things without the person reading it the wrong way. U could always teach them the netiquette rules. This may be a good use.

Question of the Day: How does flaming show a lack of respect? Do you respect people who flame others? Why?

Flaming shows a lack of respect because you are creating problems with someone else online. You are not respecting the other person. Flaming creates tension between the two people and can become more if taking out of hand. Personally i do not respect people who argue online with each other. It's no need to create problems with someone.

Do you think that reading to children will make them better readers and ultimately help them do better in school? Why?

I absolutely agree. Parents should start children off at an early age. Reading is essential in learning how to write & converse properly with others. If a child reads daily they learn new vocabulary and that will help in the long run.
